CORAL CITY

Location: Dominican Republic
Year: 2024
Status: Concept design
Architecture: Morph

Coral City is a master plan in the Dominican Republic based on sustainable urbanism and climate resilience. Its design optimizes ventilation and natural light, promoting efficient buildings in a low- and mid-density environment. Zoning organizes residential, commercial, and recreational areas around a green axis, encouraging walkability and reducing reliance on motorized transport

The project integrates coastal adaptation and water management strategies to minimize environmental impact. Ecological corridors and sustainable drainage systems enhance biodiversity, while the use of local materials and vernacular techniques ensures bioclimatic architecture. Coral City is envisioned as a model of regenerative urban development in the Caribbean
